Vasectomy

A vasectomy is a surgical procedure meant to prevent pregnancy permanently and it’s super effective, almost 100%. It is a simple procedure done in the office, surgery center, or as an outpatient at the hospital. The small tubes in your scrotum are cut, cauterized, and tied so sperm can’t leave your body and cause pregnancy.

A vasectomy keeps sperm out of your semen. Sperm cells stay in your testicles and are absorbed by your body. At about 3 months after your vasectomy your semen won’t contain any sperm, so it can’t cause pregnancy. You will still produce the same amount of sperm as you did before.

Vasectomies don’t change the way you orgasm or ejaculate. Every orgasm will still look and feel the same.

Vasectomies are meant to be permanent so they usually can’t be reversed. You should only get one if you are 100% positive you don’t want to be able to get someone pregnant for the rest of your life.

You will be able to return to work shortly after your vasectomy and resume normal exercise and sex again in seven days.

Jersey Urology offers both no incision/no scalpel vasectomies as well as traditional vasectomies done through a very small incision.
